Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — With Some Positive Updates
The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.
Season 1 presents a large cast of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.
The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.
That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
